Privacy Policy
EZ Map plots land legal descriptions on your phone. It has no ads and no tracking. This policy explains what happens to information when you use it.
Photos and recognized text
When you scan a legal description, the photo is read on your phone using Google's on-device text recognition (ML Kit, provided through Google Play services). The photo and the recognized text are not sent to us or to Google. Photos taken in the app are kept only in the app's private temporary storage.
PDFs you open
When you open a PDF in EZ Map, or share one to EZ Map from another app, it is read on your phone to find the legal descriptions in it. Typed text is read straight from the file; scanned pages are read with the same on-device text recognition used for photos. A shared PDF is copied to the app's private temporary storage so it can be read. PDFs are not sent to us or to Google.
Your projects
Tracts, units, descriptions and settings are saved only on your phone, in the app's private storage. If Android backup is turned on for your phone, Android may include this data in your phone's backup to your Google account, under Google's terms. Uninstalling EZ Map or clearing its data deletes your projects.
Diagnostic data collected by Google
Google's text-recognition component sends Google limited diagnostic information so the feature keeps working: device details (such as manufacturer, model and Android version), the app's package name and version, an identifier, performance and error information, and the size and format of the images it processes. It does not include your photos or the text in them. Google encrypts this data in transit and does not share it with third parties (Google's ML Kit data disclosure). We do not receive it.
Files you export
PDF, JPEG, KML, Shapefile and CSV files you export are handed to the app you choose in Android's share menu, such as Drive, Gmail or Files. That app's own policy applies from there.
Subscriptions
EZ Map Basic and Pro are sold through Google Play. Google processes the payment; we never receive your payment details. The app asks Google Play only which plan is active.
This website
This website shows information about EZ Map. It has no sign-in and no advertising trackers. Our website host may log basic technical information, such as your IP address and browser, to deliver and protect the site.
Beta signup
If you sign up for the EZ Map beta on this website, we collect your first and last name, the Gmail address on your Android phone, and, if you give them, your company and the role that best describes you. The form is run by our website host, Wix, which stores it for us under its own security and privacy terms. We use it only to invite you to the beta on Google Play and to send you beta updates. We don't sell it or share it with advertisers. To have your signup removed, email support@ezmapland.com.
Your EZ Map account
If you create an account on this website, our website host, Wix, runs the sign-in and stores your name, email address and login details for us. If you sign in with a Google or Facebook account, that service tells Wix your name and email address. When subscriptions open, Wix also keeps a record of your plan and its renewals; card payments are processed by the payment provider and we never see your full card number. Your browser keeps a sign-in token so you stay logged in on that device until you log out.
Referrals
Each account gets a personal referral link. When someone opens EZ Map's website from a referral link, their browser remembers the referral code for up to 60 days. If they create an account, we record which account referred them, so we can give the free month to the right person. We don't show either person's details to the other.
Deleting your data
EZ Map keeps no copy of the projects on your phone, so there is nothing for us to delete. To remove everything the app stores, uninstall it or clear its storage in your phone's settings. To remove a beta signup or close your website account, email us at the address below.
Children
EZ Map is designed for adults working with land records and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
